Do you Want To Know Christ?
Are you looking for Hope, Love, and Meaning?
Know that:
1. God loves you. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Because of God's love for all, He desires you to have an unbroken fellowship with Him.
2. We are ALL Sinners. Isaiah 53:6 "All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
All persons are sinners in that they disobey God. Sin is choosing your own way.
3. Sin Separates us from God. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God." Sin forms a barrier between yourself and God, you cannot enter into the unbroken fellowship with God. Instead of an eternity with Christ,
sin sends us into an eternity the Bible calls hell.
4. You can't save yourself. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourself: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast." People often think that their efforts can overcome the "sin" barrier. That is not true. Salvation is a gift of God. Nothing you can do is good enough or nor is there any way to earn God's salvation.
5. God sent His Son Jesus to remove the "Sin" barrier. Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus' death on the cross removed the "sin" barrier between you and God. Jesus died for your sins, taking upon Himself the punishment you deserved. God did for you in Jesus, what you cannot do for yourself.
6. You can receive Jesus Christ through faith. Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God raised HIm from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for you on the cross rather than trusting your own efforts to have a relationship with God. It involves making Jesus the permanent leader of your life. Faith leads to repentance, genuine sorrow for sin and a willingness to turn away from sin.
7. Through prayer you can trust in Jesus Christ. Admit to God that you are a sinner. Express sorrow or repentance for your sinfulness. Ask Him to forgive your sins. Trust Jesus by inviting Him to become the permanent leader of your life. Thank Him for saving you from an eternity in hell. Commit yourself to live for Him.
If you are ready to commit your life to Jesus Christ, we want to encourage you to speak with our pastor. Grace... God's unmerited favor. It is kindness from God we don't deserve.
There is nothing we have done, or can ever do to earn this favor. It is a free gift from God. Are you ready to accept God's favor?
